Alapocas Run State Park
Alapocas Run State Park features a variety of scenic areas and opportunities for recreation. This wooded park began with 123 acres deeded to the city in 1910. Today it features 191 acres of scenic pathways, majestic rocky cliffs and areas to enjoy nature right in the middle of Wilmington.
Alapocas Run State Park is located off I-95 near the intersection of Concord Pike and Foulk Road. There is always something happening – from kids at play, to climbers belaying the rocky cliffs, walkers, bikers and even rugby matches!
Park Features
- Home to the Blue Ball Barn, a once-abandoned dairy barn built by Alfred I. du Pont which is the permanent home of the Delaware Folk Art collection as well as an events space
- Can-Do Playground, the first Boundless playground in Delaware, which gives children of all abilities the opportunity to play
- A natural rock cliff designed for Rock Climbing
- Pathways for hiking and bike riding
- Athletic Fields for football, rugby, and soccer
